Nature-Based Psychotherapy
Therapy in Motion
Sometimes, the best environment for healing is not within four walls. Our Nature-Based Psychotherapy—also known as Walk-and-Talk Therapy—takes your traditional session outdoors. By blending clinical psychotherapy with the healing power of the natural world, we offer an approach that feels both aligned and authentic to your personal journey.
Through mindful movement, this service is designed to help you step out of your head and connect with your body in a grounding, restorative environment.
Our Approach to Outdoor Healing
This service goes beyond simply taking a walk. It features carefully crafted, thought-provoking therapeutic activities designed to improve mindset and enhance a personal sense of wellbeing. During our time together, we incorporate two key modalities:

Somatic and Body-Focused Work
By moving and tracking physical sensations in real time, we can effectively process and release stress that is actively stored in the nervous system.

Adventure and Wilderness Therapy
Gentle outdoor excursions and physical challenges are utilized to naturally lower psychological defenses, foster adaptability, and build resilience.
Core Benefits and Goals
Taking therapy into nature provides unique advantages that traditional office settings cannot always offer:
Deep Emotional Processing
Engages the body and implicit memory systems, utilizing movement and environment to allow “emotion to change emotion.”
Reduced Avoidance
Creates a safe, dynamic space to confront difficult memories or psychological blocks that are often hard to reach through cognitive discussion alone.
Improved Self-Awareness
Helps you identify personal patterns, build empathy, and practice new coping behaviors in real time.
How It Works
Nature-Based Psychotherapy sessions are delivered in-person at a designated outdoor location. We will meet you directly at our chosen location to facilitate the session, with scheduling based on our current availability. Because this service takes place in a public, outdoor setting and involves physical movement, all clients are required to sign a specific consent form prior to participating to ensure complete alignment on privacy and safety.
