About Our Practice

Welcome to a Judgment-Free Space

At Accretion Behavioral Health, we believe that engaging with the mental healthcare system should never feel clinical, cold, or impersonal. Our practice is a judgment-free zone supporting humans from all walks of life. Whether you are working through a season of change, consider yourself an out-of-the-box thinker, or carry a healthy skepticism about traditional medicine, you will find a welcoming space here.

We know that past experiences or cultural backgrounds can make the idea of therapy feel intimidating. That is why our foundation is built on unconditional positive regard. Here, you will not find rigid expectations or a one-size-fits-all approach. Instead, we offer a truly collaborative partnership that respects your unique perspective and honors your autonomy.

The Energy of Accretion

When you are navigating trauma, anxiety, or a major life transition, the pressure to “fix” everything all at once can feel paralyzing. That is exactly why we chose our name. By definition, accretion is the organic process of continuous growth through small, steady additions.

We shift the focus away from the overwhelming expectation of overnight transformation. Instead, we anchor your healing in the minute-to-minute and hour-to-hour decisions you make every day. Those choices might seem minor in the moment, but they matter deeply—they are the building blocks of your future.

By removing the pressure to have it all figured out today, you create breathing room. That profound sense of relief is the distinct energy of Accretion Behavioral Health. We provide a space where you are free to drop the weight of expectations, become comfortable with flexibility, and direct your own continuous evolution, one small choice at a time.

Shifting Focus: Post-Traumatic Growth

A core pillar of our practice is moving beyond simply surviving past experiences and leaning into Post-Traumatic Growth. Our providers believe you do not have to let yesterday’s problems dictate today.

Often, anxiety and trauma condition us to constantly analyze, strategize, and prepare for worst-case scenarios based on fearful memories. Our goal is to help you break that cycle. By teaching practical coping techniques, emotional regulation, and positive self-talk, we equip you to stop living in the “what-ifs” of the future and empower you to exist fully and peacefully in the now.

Meet Our Founder

Accretion Behavioral Health was founded by Terrance Banner, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker dedicated to bridging the gap between evidence-based treatments and whole-person wellness. With degrees from Grand Canyon University and Arizona State University, Terrance brings a wealth of diverse experience guiding clients across community agencies, schools, and hospitals.

Fully credentialed within the traditional medical model, Terrance utilizes proven modalities like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing, and positive psychology. However, his egalitarian, client-centered approach ensures his care remains highly adaptable, never relying on a standardized, one-size-fits-all formula. He is highly equipped to address complex realities—including transgenerational oppression, racial trauma, chemical addiction, and complicated family dynamics—while remaining open to non-traditional remedies that honor the mind, body, and soul.

Outside of his clinical work, Terrance finds his own renewal through sports, the creative arts, and spending time in nature with his family. Guided by a deep respect for spirituality, he is passionate about facilitating meaningful, restorative change for every client he walks alongside.
